Welcome to Cowes WI part of the National Federation of Women’s Institutes (NFWI), the largest voluntary organisation for women in the UK.

We have a membership of 45 and regularly have approx 35 attend our meetings. We keep the business bit to a minimum, allowing time for speakers who are always interesting, knowledgeable and well-received by our members.
The evening is a relaxing, friendly and amusing time enjoyed with tea, coffee and homemade cakes.

We have sub-groups of Craft, Board Games and Kurling, plus monthly coffee meet ups. We also keep in touch using Whatsapp. We have all made friends and enjoy the good company. We have interesting events including talks and outings. Great friendship.

We have a 'buddy' system for visitors to ensure you are made welcome and looked after so please get in touch if you'd like to come along.

Margaret Hill is our President - "Island born and bred, I have lived in Cowes and surrounding areas. Widowed with three children and five grandchildren, I was a foster parent for 30 years. I love knitting and making craft items. I still help to run a weekly toddler group. I have a cat and a dog, and been a member of Cowes WI since the first night, 15 years ago. I started as a committee member, then Vice President, and currently been President for the last 4 years".
